Our talented students
As many as 36 of our students and 17 staff proudly represented St George’s Anglican Grammar School at the City to Surf community fun run. Our students were stationed at the water and electrolyte station at the 6km mark, serving thousands of runners with energy, encouragement and plenty of smiles.
The students showed incredible teamwork and positivity across the day, working together to keep the tables stocked, cheering on participants and ensuring the station ran smoothly. It was especially wonderful to see everyone so enthusiastically cheering on the runners – particularly when spotting fellow students and staff from St George’s making their way through the course.
A huge thank you to the trio of staff who gave up their Sunday morning to guide and encourage our students – Miss Yoxall, Mr Ryan McBride and Ms Fiona Craig. Their presence and leadership helped model the spirit of service that underpins our school community.
For the third year running, a growing team of St George’s staff took part. The runners and walkers were Mrs Campbell, Ms Sephton (chief organiser!), Miss Raynor, Miss Yates, Ms McGaw, Mrs Taylor, Ms Bourke, Mr Kerrigan, Ms Harris, Miss Cherry, Ms Belyea, Mrs Gamble, Ms De Witt and Ms Scheele.
While the Perth City2Surf was taking place, Mrs Tagore was in NSW running the Sydney marathon.
The 2025 TCS Sydney Marathon became the newest Abbott World Marathon Major – right up there with London, Boston, Berlin, Chicago and NYC. With more than 33,000 runners it was most ever number of finishers for an Australian marathon. Ms Tagore flew out on Friday after work and flew home on Sunday after running 42.2km.
Well done, Mrs Tagore – you’re an inspiration to us all!
Nancy completed Hyrox in Perth last weekend with her aunt. What’s Hyrox? It’s 8 x 1km of running plus eight workout stations. Nancy achieved this in 1 hour 20 mins – AND she ran the City to Surf.
