I would like to wish the very best of luck to our Year 12 students as they begin their Mock Examinations next week. This is a significant milestone in their final year of schooling, and our students should be proud of the dedication and resilience they have shown so far.
These exams are not only an important assessment opportunity but also a chance to practise under formal conditions ahead of their final WACE exams. For the best opportunity for success, I strongly encourage students to:
Plan your study ahead of time – create a realistic timetable that spreads your revision across subjects and avoids last-minute cramming.
Maintain a consistent routine – try to keep regular sleeping, eating and study hours.
Take breaks and stay active – short walks, stretching, and time away from screens will help keep your mind fresh.
Get plenty of rest – sleep is vital for memory retention and focus.
Be kind to yourself – some nerves are normal. Reach out to teachers, friends, or family if you feel overwhelmed.
Once the mock exams are complete, students should use the first week of the school holidays to rest and recharge. Disconnecting from academic pressures, even briefly, is key to avoiding burnout and returning with a clear head ready for final WACE preparations. You have earned that pause — so be sure to take it.
The WACE Written Examinations will officially commence on Wednesday, 29 October (Week 3, Term 4). These will be held in the Year 12 Common Room on the ground floor of the Murray Street Campus.
Students can access their personalised timetables via the SCSA Student Portal:🔗https://studentportal.scsa.wa.edu.au Printed copies have also been given to all students.
Before written exams begin, several of our students will participate in WACE Practical Examinations during the September/October holidays. These take place across various schools in the Perth metro area, depending on the course. Students in Dance and Drama, we wish you all the best as you prepare to perform with confidence and creativity. Please double check the SCSA portal for exact times, dates, and venues.
Thank you to our Year 10 students for the maturity and insight shown during their Year 11 2026 Subject Selection Interviews. It has been a pleasure discussing future pathways with you and supporting your decision-making process.
As students head into the holiday break, we strongly encourage them to:
Reflect on the subject prerequisites for Year 11 and ensure you are on track to meet the requirements. Planning and preparation now will go a long way in helping you enter Year 11 with confidence and clarity.
