AngliSchools House, the 441 Murray Street Campus of St George’s Anglican Grammar School, is now formally blessed and open!
It was wonderful on Friday last week to share in the significant celebrations for the formal opening of our Murray Street Campus with the school community alongside a range of special invited guests and dignitaries. The staff and students relished in the opportunity to showcase our wonderful new facilities and the many enhanced learning opportunities that this campus readily provides for St George’s Anglican Grammar School on a daily basis. A huge and heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to everyone involved in what was indeed a splendid event and a suitably celebratory occassion.
Health Week this week has seen the Year 10 students celebrate a wide variety of positive health messages with their peers. It has been terrific to see them share their classroom learnings for healthy lifestyle choices with staff and students alike across both campus sites. They have been the ambassadors of good decision making and leading the charge for all of us to prioritise our own health and wellbeing as we celebrate RUOK Day ~ an important check in day especially as our Year 12s head into their MOCK Examinations next week and the additional anxieties that this often brings. Even our teachers were involved in establishing healthy initiatives with the Monday Staff Meeting reverting to being a Wellness Walk in the afternoon sunshine.
The first round of our 2026 Student Leadership Elections have led to the exciting announcement of our ‘Top Six’ from whom our 2026 School Captains will be selected. I would like to commend all of the Year 11 Students who nominated for leadership – the largest number of applications for leadership to date. Huge congratulations to Juliette Andrews, Jade Fletcher, Sophie Gardiner, Cooper Grant, Cate Williams and Benji Yan for being part of the ‘Top Six’. These students will now present their Captains Speeches to the school next week as part of our election process. We are looking forward to hearing of their leadership aspirations and will share with you the final results at the Handover Assembly in Term Four.
Our newest Grammarians enjoyed the delights of our 441 Murray Street Campus at this morning's Year 13 Breakfast, sharing their many adventures post school. It was so lovely to see them together once again and all living fabulous lives beyond school.
It has been a busy few weeks of amazing events with Battle of the Bands, Sleepout in the City, Dance & Drama Showcase, Wear it Purple Day, City2Surf and so much more. Sincere thanks to so many staff who have truly gone the extra mile to allow these events to happen and with only two weeks of term to go we look forward to celebrating our new school campus with parents attending the Parent Sundowners on Tuesday 16 September and Thursday 18 September. We will conclude the term with the Mandela Charity Day where we will clearly see that St George’s has so much talent!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and our Year 12s all the very best as they make their study plans come to life to successfully master their Mock Examinations – you’ve got this! Believe in yourself just as we believe in you.
