Raining Cats, Dogs and Dragons

Students and staff battled very wet and difficult conditions at the WA Athletics Stadium in Mt Claremont last Friday for the 2025 ACC H-Division Athletics Carnival

With rain falling from start to finish, the battle for the title was close, with just one point separating first and second positions at the start of the valuable relay events.

St Andrew's held off St Joseph's School Northam and our St George’s team placed fifth in what was a very close carnival.

Well done to every student and staff member who fought through the conditions. Our team was missing some of our top runners and that did put the pressure on, but each student at the carnival stepped up and did their best despite horrendous conditions. Thanks to all those students who committed to the day and to the parents who came along to watch.

The St George’s Girls team excelled - winning the Junior Girls Shield and overall Girls Aggregate shield.

Fieke Potter was named Under 14 Champion Girl after her remarkable performance on the track, lapping nearly the entire field in the 1500m. Fieke has a bright future ahead in running.

Under 13 competitor Mikayla Di Giuseppe also had an outstanding day placing third in her age category.

We look forward to the ACC coming to St George’s to present the girls with their awards.
