Inter Netball
In Week 3 we had two Inter Netball teams compete at Boardman Stadium, Sunbury. Many students in both Boys/Mixed and Girls teams had represented the college in Netball since Year 1, so it was great work with these students again.
The competition was always going to be challenging, as many schools had teams of all Year 10 students, however our teams had trained hard and built trust and confidence over a long lead in. Both teams should be amazingly proud of their efforts, as they were competitive in all matches, with the Girls coming away with a win.
We look forward to working with these students again next year as they lead our Inter teams as Year 10's. Thanks to Miss Casey and Elise K for coaching our teams- we're building a Netball coaching A-team!
Division Cross Country
A small team of 18 students represented Mickleham SC at the Mickleham Division Cross Country. While small in number, our students definitely left an impression on the competition! All students smashed the trail, returning very good results both individually and for our school. While we won't have final results for a number of days, we did get to celebrate our first ever winner of a Cross Country event in Moey Al Rubayi winning the 12/13 Boys! In addition, Angel Kumar finished 4th in the Girls 15 and Gunveer Singh finished 5th in the Boys 15.
In all, we expect 8 students to qualify for Region Cross Country, to be held next month in Kilmore. This is the most successful team we've had represent our college at Cross Country, and all students should be very proud with how they championed our school values throughout the day and in their races. Well done to all!
