Over the last few weeks our senior students have been able to represent the school at a number of functions. Last week our School Captains and Vice Captains attended the National Young Leaders Day at the International Convention Centre at Darling Harbour. This was an opportunity for these students to hear inspirational speakers and take away new ideas on how they can be great leaders in the school. Our leaders were wonderful ambassadors for our school.
Last week I also had the privilege of accompanying our House Captains, while our School Captains were away, to the Sequicentenary Celebration Mass of the appointment of Bishop Timothy O’Mahony as the first Bishop of Armidale. As part of the celebration a memorial plaque was blessed and will be attached to the front of the Cathedral in the coming weeks. Thank you to our House Captains for there representation at the Mass. We had many compliments on how smart they looked and their respectful behaviour.
Since we have returned this year we have gradually seen an easing of the COVID restrictions and it has been wonderful to see the return of many events that had to be cancelled last year. Our calendar has been filling up quickly with representative sporting events both this term and in the coming terms. We have also been able to schedule school events that we had not been able to hold in the last year, however some of these will be held at a later time to allow for greater attendance. I would like to thank our parents body and school community for their understanding and support as we have navigated the COVID restrictions and returned to holding events.
As we head into our school holidays I would like to thank all our staff for their dedication to the students and their learning. I also thanks our parents who were able to attend the recent P&F AGM. I thank those members were elected for positions on the P&F - a full list is on the P&F page and I thank Jodie Cox, the past president, for all her work over the last few years. Future P&F meetings will be face to face with a Zoom option as well so please consider attending.
I wish everyone a Holy and happy Easter. Take care over the holidays and be safe if you are travelling.
