The Living Well, Learning Well Framework

Shared Beliefs and Understandings: before policy and practice becomes a shared moral/ethical purpose. A shared commitment to supportive relationships, student-centred pedagogy, and an inclusive, safe environment for all begins with high staff expectations, of self and of others. Those who work and lead authentically in schools have:

A universal and unconditional positive regard for children and young people, coupled with a high regard for the collective capacity of a school staff team to increase learning, well-being and life-opportunity outcomes for children and young people.

Three integral themes that will drive this shared purpose in our Catholic schools are:

  • I am Safe;
  • I am valued, respected, and cared for; and
  • I am a learner.

The staff at St Mary’s school have commenced unpacking what these themes look like in our school. Unpacking these three themes with the students and the staff ensures a collective understanding so learning, faith development and well-being continues to thrive.
