Polding Swimming

Kieran Stuart and Sasha Scott Hamilton travelled down to Sydney Olympic Park last Monday to represent the diocese at the Polding Swimming Championships.

For Sasha, it was the culmination of a year long goal that she has been working towards. She competed in the 11 year old girls 50m breaststroke and swam a fantastic race against some of the best swimmers in the state.

Kieran competed in the junior boys 50m breaststroke, 9 years boys 50m freestyle, junior boys 50m butterfly and the junior boys individual medley. In the junior events, Kieran was one of the few 9 year olds competing against a majority of 10 year olds. Over the course of the day he beat a number of his personal best times by significant margins.

Well done to both of our Polding representatives, we look forward to seeing how you develop over the next few years.

St Mary’s represents Armidale District Cricket Association (ADCA) in Northern Inland Cricket

In November 2020, a group of St Mary’s Catholic Sports Club (CSC) players were selected to represent Armidale District Cricket Association (ADCA) in the Northern Inland Cricket (under 11’s) competition.  Clancy Lawlor, Jacob Ahern, Darcy Lawlor, Vern Toakley and Lincoln Brennan joined the ‘Armidale Bushrangers’ versing representative teams from Moree, Narrabri, Tamworth, Gunnedah and Inverell.

Last month, Northern Inland Cricket coach Clarry Moran selected two CSC players to play in the local Reconciliation Cup at the Armidale Sports Ground.  Darcy Lawlor amongst some others stood out playing with, and against, some of the region’s most talented adult cricketers. Well done Darcy!
