YEAR 9

YEAR 9

Back on site and back into learning. For our year 9’s of 2022 they have mostly taken the return to physical school in their stride. Our team of year 9 mentors set the task of encouraging this group to have the highest GPA across the school. Year 9 is often regarded as a tricky year for students as they are preparing to enter the senior school, but this group responded and reached the goal in term 3.

This year was the introductory year for the signature class of 9A where many students blossomed in an alternative structure to the mainstream classroom. Working alongside dedicated staff to create learning goals and timetables, this group of students showed a lot of growth in many areas.

We also saw 4 students, Holly Fowler, Oliviah Joyce, Marty Cook and Ryan Zudeima, head off to the Gnurad campus of the Leadership school and produce and deliver a great Community Lead Project (CLP) at the Leongatha Specialist School in Leongatha on their return.

We were also fortunate to be successful in our application for the Victorian Government initiative, Positive start program, for a year 9 camp at Portsea for 3 days. This allowed all students to attend the camp at no cost. We enjoyed the coastal beauty of the area and also spent some valuable time together socialising as a group away from the school setting.

Well done to the year 9 class of 2022, we look forward to watching you grow even further in the senior school and beyond.
