MATHS
MATHS DOMAIN
In 2022, the mathematics teachers and students enjoyed the return to more consistent face-to-face learning. During the year, we provided many different learning activities for our students. It was not uncommon to see maths classes out in the yard. During measurement units, classes would use their knowledge of formulas to work out the area, perimeter and volume of different objects around the school. During statistics, groups created their own investigations, collected data and then used appropriate graphing techniques t display their findings and during trigonometry, students used their knowledge to measure to find the heights of different buildings.
Likeability class groupings continued to be a success. Each term students work ethic, results and learning behaviours were assessed and discussed. This allowed class groupings to be adjusted, to ensure students are being grouped with likeminded individuals and learning maths at a level suitable to them. This ensured the best learning environment and outcomes were available for our students.
I would like to thank the 2022 Maths teachers for their hard work and dedication. The commitment of our team to ensure students are building confidence and meeting their potential was outstanding.
