YEAR 8
YEAR 8
Well done to all Year 8 students on completing the year. Our year began with a flurry at Swimming Sports followed by our camp the next week to Waratah Bay. This was enjoyed by all students and staff who attended. The first term rounded off with athletics day and throughout the year, Year 8 students participated in various sporting events and other activities, well done to everyone who participated. A special mention to the girls Volleyball team that progressed to state level. Students have shown great self-motivation and growth in both their independent learning skills and collaboration. In ACE, they began exploring the skills that will be useful when investigating career pathways. Students took great pride in applying the qualities and values from the Respectful Relationships program.
Broadening Horizons was undertaken by all Year 8 students, and we saw the students step up and develop real world work-place skills of teamwork, collaboration, communication, inquiry, and problem solving with the investigations offered by Milpara Community House, South Gippsland Shire Council, and South Gippsland Conservation Society. The presentation day was a real highlight for all involved. Great work!
A big thank you to the year 8 mentors for all their fantastic work supporting the students through their work as both Maths teachers and as mentors. 2022 - Ms Schwartz and Mr Mahoney
