KSC ATHLETICS DAY
Report by Jess Churchill Year 7
On Tuesday the 15th of March we had our KSC athletics day. It was a fantastic day full of fun and energy. The weather provided a little bit of everything also! Everyone was cheering on their house team, helping one another and the music was great, thanks Ms Burdett. It was a close day in terms of points, but the winner of the day was……STRZELECKI! There were some great examples of sportsmanship, like when Chloe Ogilvy, stopped to help up a fellow competitor who had fallen in the hurdles. Well done to everyone that participated and had a go, you all did extremely well. Thank you to all the staff and especially Ms Kordus for all of their efforts in organising the day. Good luck to those who went through to the next level, this will be held at Leongatha on the 28th of March.

INTERSCHOOL ATHLETICS
We had a sensational day at Leongatha on 28th March for the Interschool Athletics. KSC students were everywhere and in everything, trying their hardest and performing really well. So many students returned from their events exclaiming their joy at having got a ‘Personal Best’. It was also great to see many KSC students helping out; handing out ribbons, setting up hurdles and sweeping the sandpits. A great effort by everyone.
Special mentions to the following students;
- Saffron Rumbold, Wil Reynolds, Colby Rumbold and Thomas Sherar who all volunteered to compete in events in age groups older than their own
- Charlotte Anthony who came first in Discus and Javelin, and 2nd in Shot Put
- Moneve Edeberg who came first in Long Jump, and 3rd in the Hundred Metres and Triple Jump
- Siena Lane who came 1st in the 200m, 2nd in the 100m and 3rd in the Triple Jump, and finished the day as the 3rd place individual in her age group overall
- Charlee Walker who came first in shot put and 2nd in discus
- All the competitors in the relay teams who tried their hearts out after competing all day
- The many students who will now head to district athletics
- KSC! For coming 3rd overall for the Girls section, and 5th overall for the Boys. An exceptional effort!
