Glen Eira Youth Advisory Committee
Glen Eira City Council Youth Services is currently recruiting for members to join the Youth Advisory Committee.
The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) will be one of Council's formal advisory committees. Members will provide their feedback and advice in relation to Council plans and policies, ensuring that a youth perspective is considered on issues that affect the lives and wellbeing of local young people.
The Youth Advisory Committee will meet 5 times annually, in an accessible venue or online, if required. Committee members will be expected to attend 80% of the meetings.
We think that it's important to hear the voices of diverse young people in Glen Eira and encourage culturally diverse young people, LGBTIQA+ young people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and young people with disabilities to apply.
Selection is based on forming a committee that is representative of our diverse community as well as members having an illustrated passion and understanding of youth issues, and the desire to participate in open minded conversation on a wide range of topics.
Nominations are now open for young people aged 12-25 years old, who live, work or study in Glen Eira, and can be made online via the website: https://www.gleneira.vic.gov.au/services/youth/youth-advisory-committee
