We hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people

as a central and fundamental responsibility of our school.

St Joseph’s School acknowledges the Wurundjeri people as the Traditional Owners on whose Country we are situated. We recognise and respect the cultural heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging. We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who also visit St Joseph’s School.

Acknowledgement of Country We would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri people, the original custodians of this land where we learn and play.  , We acknowledge their rich cultural heritage and spiritual connection to this land. , We pay our respects to their elders, past, present and emerging.
Feast of the Assumption On August 15, the Western Church celebrates its belief that ‘the Immaculate Mother of God, the ever-Virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.' It is often tempting to arrive at an image of Mary ascending to heaven in clouds of glory surrounded by angels.  Baroque artists loved the idea.
