Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been great getting back into the swing of things, here at St Joseph's following my time away with Larissa. I appreciated my warm welcome back by the staff, students and parents. We had a fantastic holiday and thoroughly enjoyed the complete break from work. However, we can't be on holidays for ever - time to get back to reality.
Thank you to everyone for their support of Katie and Lisa in their roles of Interim Principal and Deputy Principal. By all accounts, it was business as usual. I enjoyed keeping up to date via the fortnightly school newsletter. I am grateful to them for taking on these roles. I am very pleased they were able to progress things so well throughout this time and respond proactively to any challenges they faced.
Last night was a wonderful opportunity for our students to gather and enjoy each other's company while dancing, singing and rocking the night away to some tunes played by DJ B (Mrs Rebecca Beveridge). This was the first Disco since pre-COVID times and it was so great seeing this event going ahead. Special thanks to our P&F President Laura V and her band of hard working parents who worked hard with Katie to make this event possible. Thanks to Anthony Willemsen (Maintenance) for the preparations for this event and to all the staff who assisted with the supervision and care of the students on the night.
Our Year 5/6 Students enjoyed a wonderful day at the snow last week, arranged for them by Mr Terry Foley. I was thrilled to hear from Terry on Friday that the organiser, Mr Andrew Devisser remarked that the St Joseph's students were the most enthusiastic, fun loving and respectful group he had seen this year. Congratulations to the children on this accolade. We really do have great kids here at St Joseph's school.
Thanks to Terry and the other staff who attended, making this experience possible for the children. Please refer to the Phys Ed link in the sidebar of more photos and details about this event.
Have a restful and Peaceful weekend.
Go the Matildas!
Nick.
All parents are requested to review and update their children's details on Operoo, if they have not already done so this year. We have noted a number of outdated data sets, particularly in relation to swimming ability. It is crucial that this information is updated prior to our upcoming School Camps.
