World Oceans Day - Thursday 8th of June

Hillsmeade took part in learning about the oceans on World Oceans Day. Students completed Literacy and Numeracy activities during the day with the theme of the ocean.

Our Hillsmeade Marine Ambassadors, Sara, Kyson, Ava and Tegan, presented incursions throughout the day to our Prep - Grade 2 students teaching them about the importance of taking care of our ocean and how litter from the land ends up in the ocean.

On the day we ran a lolly guessing competition and raised over $300 for the Dolphin Research Institute (DRI). The DRI run important education programs as well as conservation work around protecting our coastal environment.

Wonder bread bag recycling program - One month to go! Please keep collecting.

Bread bag and plastic tag recycling has begun. You can drop your empty bread bags or plastic bread tags in the collection boxes in the front office or give to your child to bring in to the collection box in the school. Bread bags can be any brand, as long as they are clean of any bread/crumbs.

The more bread bags we collect the more points we can earn to be used for sports equipment at our school.
