Upcoming Learning:

During the next fortnight, students will be undertaking learning in the following areas:

Subject	Learning Focus
Reading	To understand the features of an informative text.
Writing	To understand the features of an information text.
Maths	Measure angles up to 180 degrees. To understand translations, reflections and rotations.
Inquiry (Government)	To develop my knowledge of local governments.
Social & Emotional Learning	To identify problems in our community.
Spelling	To understand how to read and spell words to the ‘SFE' rule.

News and Reminders:

Technology - A reminder that all students are strongly encouraged to bring their own device from home each day to school. We expect the devices to be charged at home as we cannot do this at school. We will be continuing to provide learning activities accessible online for them to access during the day. We have a limited supply of school devices available so cannot guarantee the use of these during all learning tasks.
Premiers Reading Challenge has started, students can log their books at home with the login details provided. If you have any troubles accessing the website please contact your childs classroom teacher. They can log the books they are reading each night in both their diaries and the Premiers Reading Challenge website.
Reminder about reading, this is an expectation for all students. We have seen a decline in home reading being logged in diaries and we want to encourage students to keep up these routines at home. Reading is an important way of developing language skills, enhancing creativity and exposing students to new words and ways to use language. Please remind your child/children to write down the book they are reading in their diaries.
Production news: Students in Grade 4 will be performing in the production on Wednesday the 21st of June, students will need to wear a long sleeved black t-shirt and black pants, students are also required to wear black socks and mostly black shoes. Costumes should now have been checked by your classroom teacher and returned to you. Students must wear their costumes to Bunjil Place on the night of the production - they are not wearing them during the day of production.
Spelling - We encourage you to work with your child to read and spell the list being sent home and to discuss the spelling rule with your child.
