Regional Cross Country Championships

Thirty two students competed at the SSW Regional Cross Country Championships at Hurlstone Agricultural High School recently. Our standout performers were:

Jessica Narvaiza (12 years Girls – 8th)

Marcus Saggiomo (16 years Boys – 9th)

Olivia Macmillan (17 years Girls – 10th)

Jessica and Olivia have qualified for the NSW All Schools Cross Country Championships at Eastern Creek in week one next term.

Bernera Zone Athletics Carnival

Our team of 102 athletes displayed great speed, endurance, power, determination and tremendous school spirit over two days at Campbelltown Athletics Centre to retain the Zone Athletics Trophy We won the Girls Points Score, Boys Points Score and the Overall Points score.

We had 10 relay teams qualify for the Regional Athletics Championships.

All students should be extremely proud of their efforts.

Football success

Natalie Narvaiza represented Sydney South West (SSW) at the recent Combined High Schools  (CHS) Girls Football Championships. Natalie was an integral part of the SSW White team’s 8th placing. Congratulations on your selection and performance.

 

Congratulations to Jarrod Carluccio for his recent football success. Jarrod was an integral part of the CHS 1's victory at the NSW All Schools Football Championships against the CHS 2s, Independent (CIS) and Catholic (CCC) teams. He was the Golden Boot Award winner as the leading goal scorer of the tournament and his outstanding displays earned him selection in the NSW All Schools squad for the National Championships. Sensational achievement! We are very proud of your continued success.

Futsal

Recently, we competed in the Football NSW Futsal Regional Championships. We entered teams in the U14, U16 and Opens Boys and Girls competitions. All teams played very well.

Our U14 Boys and Girls reached the semi-finals while our U16 Girls, U16 Boys and Opens Boys were crowned Regional Champions!! They will now compete at the State Championships next term.

Futsal is a sport widely embraced by the students here at our school and we will continue to foster the development of our students.

Grade Sport

The Year 9 and 10 Winter competition is in full swing with all teams participating well. Most of our teams are in contention for finals spots at the half-way point of the competition and we are anticipating good performances and results from our teams in the remaining rounds of the competition.

Wheelchair Rugby

I was selected for the NSW state of origin team to play wheelchair rugby league. I had a great time in Brisbane versing the Queensland side and we won the two games scoring 52-18 and second game 48-4.
