Junior Italian Poetry Competition

The results are in….and with over 17 schools participating and approximately 800 students we have a third place winner……   Aliyah Loriente 7H

Here’s what Aliyah had to say about her experience:

Going to Lygon street was an amazing experience. I had the chance to learn and see the different parts of the Italian culture and language that I hadn’t seen before. The first part of the excursion was to go to C.I.S (Centre of Italian Studies) to perform an Italian poem to Maria (the co-ordinator of C.I.S) which was an interesting experience. At first, I was a bit nervous to perform my poem, but when it was my turn, Maria was really kind to me. After we all performed our poems, we explored Lygon street and took photos of its amazing restaurants, shops, and other well-known places. We then went to Brunetti (well-known Italian restaurant) and ate some delicious Italian food that I really enjoyed. The atmosphere at Brunetti was very warm and welcoming. Overall, I had an outstanding and memorable day, I learnt a lot of new things, and I would love to go again.
