EIS AFL

On Wednesday 5 April, our EIS AFL students played a friendly match against Hallam.

The girls came from behind to WIN in a close match and the boys battled hard during their match against Hallam's senior team.

Congratulations to everyone for a great day!

Intermediate Boys Baseball

The Year 10 boys competed at the Eastern Metropolitan Region Baseball Competition on Wednesday 27 April.

The competition was tough, and the boys improved greatly over the day and almost won the last game!  They had a great day and gave it their all.

Senior Badminton

On Wednesday 27 April, there was excitement in the air as we made our way to Kilsyth Stadium for the Yarra District Senior Badminton Competition.  The weather forecast was grim, but that did not bother us, as badminton is an indoor sport.

With a total of ten teams entered across both the boys’ and girls’ competitions, we knew we were in for a tough day.

First up was a preview of the grand final with the boys taking on the Heights. It was a super tight match, with the boys eventually falling by three games. A hugely gallant effort.

They picked themselves up and won the next three out of four matches and ended up taking third place for the day!

The girls on the other hand, who were all new to the sport of badminton, started off strongly with two narrow defeats before finishing the day with a win.

I must commend the girls’ team on how they conducted themselves with learning the rules and playing as a team.  Congratulations and well done!

Intermediate Boys Soccer

On Monday 10 May, two LHS Intermediate Boys Soccer teams competed in the Yarra Division.

Team 1, WON every game in a dominant display only conceding 1 goal for the day and winning the final 8-0.

Both teams competed hard and had a great day.

Student Entry: On Wednesday May 10, the LHS Year 8 team went out and played school footy against Upper Yarra, Healesville and Lilydale Heights.

Our ‘B’ team played some great footy, winning 3 out of 4 games, and only losing to our school’s ‘A’ team.

We worked as a team very well, as we used our voice loudly and clearly. Our backline layout was great, as when it was in our forward line, the back 6 moved up to build the wall to stop the ball coming out.

Year 8

Student Entry: On Wednesday 10 May, a group of the Year 8 girls participated in the Yarra Division Netball competition.

We took a bus to Pinks Reserve with Miss Taylor and Miss Harvie in our snazzy new uniforms.  When we arrived, some of the Year 9/10 netballers helped us warm up.

Lilydale high school had 3 representing teams, each playing 8 games in a round-robin. Luckily, Team 1 successfully won all their games, brought a flag home for Lilydale High School, and made it through to the next round.

Well done girls! Teams 2 and 3 also had many wins on the court and put in an awesome effort!

Everyone had a fun time and got to show off their netball skills.
