Congratulations to the Intermediate A Debating team for making the Quarter Finals of the SADA Debating Competition. Frank Snelling, TJ Afungia, Amir Nazari, Trung Nguyen and coached by Ms Margaret Snelling went through the minor round undefeated.
They will be debating against Loreto College and arguing “that private schools should have quotas for places for underprivileged students.” The debate will be held at the UniSA Magill Campus on Tuesday 5h September at 8.30 pm.
Blackfriars will be hosting the annual Dominican Debating Cup against St Dominic’s Priory College On Thursday 21 September in the Hallinan Library.
Students will compete in three categories
- The Caleruega Cup for students from Years 6, 7 and 8
- The Fr John Neill Cup for students from Years 9 and 10
- The Sister Jillian Havey Cup for Senior School students
