2017 Robocup

2017 Robocup

Recently the junior and senior co-curricular Robotics Club attended the 2017 Robocup at the Education Development Centre at Hindmarsh. Our students entered robots in the Rescue and Soccer divisions of the competition.

Our Rescue teams were very successful, with Year 9 student Arnav Vaid achieving third in the Secondary Rescue division.  All the boys worked very hard during the day, developing both the physical capability of the robots and improving their programming prowess. An honourable mention goes to Year 7 student Alan Banh, who showed continuous improvement during the day.

The boys competing in the soccer division had a few close matches, but were not able to finish on the podium this year. The boys worked well as a team, spearheaded by Thomas Riley, who did a significant amount of the programming development.

Thank you to all the boys who attended, as well as Mrs Caroline Wilson and Mr Matthew Wallace for their tireless dedication and working above and beyond to improve the boys’ skills and understanding of robotics.
