VISUAL ART

ZART STUDENT GALLERY

On Saturday 1st August, I took the opportunity to get along to Zart and view our students' art works on display there in the student gallery. Our work certainly compares favourably with the work of other schools and I am certainly feeling one very proud art teacher! Here are a few photos of our exhibition. I do hope that some of our artists and their families can get along and see their works on show. This exhibition is now likely to stay on show for an extended time - possibly until the end of this year.

LOCKDOWN ART

The sudden switch to home learning meant a quick pivot to art activities that could be undertaken easily at home. It gave us a chance to have a focus on the Olympic Games in Tokyo, with works about Japanese culture and Olympic Symbols.

Here is a selection of works from Lockdown 5.0.

The dot works above, inspired by the art of Yayoi Kusama, have led straight into a whole school community art installation based on her work, which I have entitled, The Infinity Corner. The idea is that everyone in the school community -  students, teachers and parents (when they are allowed back on site), will add their flower/dot, or dot to the installation. It's already looking great, and will continue to develop in the coming weeks.

STOP PRESS - ARTISTS OF THE WEEK.

Congratulations to Lucas A and Emma L of 3RO, who are our artists of the week with their amazing Georgia O'Keeffe inspired oil pastel works.
