Pathways & Performance

Georgia Simmonds- Head of Pathways and Performance

Over the past four weeks, a number of Academic Honours students have presented the culmination of their year-long work through seminars delivered to a carefully curated audience. Working in small groups, students selected a topic they were passionate about and dedicated a term to researching, designing, and marketing their seminar.

Each presentation required students not only to communicate their findings but also to engage their audience through interactive activities.

Seminar topics included:

• Bending the Brain: Memory, Music & Stimuli

• Education Builds Empathy

• The End of the Universe

• Time for Change: Examining School Hours

• AI Use in Schools

• Clarity in Motion: Understanding Our Health & Wellbeing

• Mountain Biking: How and Why You Should Get Started

Throughout the process, students truly embodied our school values. They Thought Big when choosing their passion-learning focus, Stepped Up as they collaborated to construct and delivered their seminars, and Paid it Forward by actively supporting and participating in their peers’ presentations. Their kindness was also evident in the thoughtful ways they considered their audience’s experience.

I am incredibly proud of these students for stepping outside their comfort zones to present complex topics to a mostly adult audience. Congratulations to all involved for their dedication to the program and for enriching their learning through this passion-based project.
