As we enter Week 8 of Term 4, our students in Years 7–9 are now undertaking their final exams for the year. This is an important opportunity for them to demonstrate their learning and growth, and we thank families for supporting students to stay focused and organised during this busy period.

Last week we had the privilege of celebrating our Year 12 Graduation, a truly memorable occasion made even more special by the attendance of the Governor-General of Australia. It was an inspiring ceremony that recognised the hard work, character and achievements of the Class of 2025. We wish all our graduating students every success as they embark on their next chapter.

Week 8 also marks the final week for assessment across most year levels. In Week 9, our focus shifts to feedback, reflection and celebration. A number of exciting events are scheduled, including the Wet’n’Wild trip for our Year 7 and 8 students and the Year 9 Boat Cruise. Additional excursions and optional activities will also be available for students who wish to participate.

We are also thrilled to welcome our incoming 2026 Year 7 cohort for Orientation Day on Monday of Week 9. Students from our local primary schools will join us to experience a taste of high school life, meet key staff and get to know their peers. We look forward to supporting them as they begin their transition to The Gap SHS.

In Week 10, we move into our Enhancement Week. During this time, normal scheduled classes will not occur, allowing students to engage in targeted enrichment and  supervised alternative activities. Families should note that if students are absent or begin holidays early during Week 10, this will be recorded as a non-penalty absence. Please still follow our normal absence process and inform the office if your child will be away.
