Aqua Fun Day – Dive in for House Pride! 

(The HPE Department) is excited to announce that our annual Aqua Fun Day will take place on Tuesday 10th February (Week 3, next year) at the Albany Creek Leisure Centre. 

💦 Fun, Friendship & House Spirit 

Previously known as the Swimming Carnival, Aqua Fun Day has been redesigned to emphasise participation, teamwork, and school spirit. 

 A range of inclusive water-based activities will allow every student to contribute to their house points while enjoying a day of physical activity and fun. Students will attend during normal school hours, with access to the waterslide, current pool, and leisure spaces throughout the day. 

For Our Competitive Swimmers 

Students aiming to qualify for the District Swimming Carnival, compete for Age Champion, or follow the representative pathway are invited to join the pre-event swim meet. 

📍 Albany Creek Leisure Centre

⏰ Arrival: 7:45 a.m. 

🏁 50m events: all four strokes 

🕤 Conclusion: 9:45 a.m

before the full school event begins. 

More details about this competitive session will be shared early next year.

Aqua Fun Day is about more than just swimming, it’s a chance for every student to be involved, try something new, and celebrate what makes our school community special. 

So, bring your house colours, your team spirit, and your energy, and get ready to make a splash! 💧 

Brisbane Bullets Bring the Hype to The Gap SHS

Today our Sports Hall was buzzing as the Brisbane Bullets dropped in for an action-packed First Break! Huge crowds of excited students filled the space to shoot hoops, test out fun basketball challenges and enjoy a laid-back session with the players.

The atmosphere was electric as students tried free throws, casual three-point shots and joined in on skills demos, all just for fun and with plenty of laughs along the way.

The Bullets also gave out free training singlets and merch, and students lined up for photos signatures and a chance to chat with the pros.

It was an energetic, unforgettable break full of school spirit and great vibes. A massive thank you to the Brisbane Bullets for bringing so much fun to our campus today!
