CREATE

It has been wonderful to see our students dive into CREATE throughout Term 1, exploring what it means to think critically and creatively. Through experimentation, risk‑taking and self‑expression across a range of artistic and technological mediums, students demonstrated curiosity and growing confidence in their learning. This has provided a strong foundation for the exciting term ahead.

This term, we are thrilled to announce our whole‑school production, which will coincide with Book Week (22–28 August) and this year’s theme, “Symphony of Stories.” Students from Foundation to Year 6 have already begun exploring stories, movement and song. Each week, they will continue developing their performance pieces in preparation for our show night. It promises to be a vibrant celebration of collaboration, creativity and storytelling.

Alongside production rehearsals, students will continue to build their CREATE skills through a range of rich learning experiences:

  • Foundation students will explore Seasons, using music, movement, colour and digital tools to express the changes they observe in the world around them.
  • Year 1 students will investigate emotions through drama and sound, incorporating art elements such as colour, line and shape to enhance their expression.
  • Year 2 students will embark on a journey into Space and the Universe, using creative technologies and the arts to imagine worlds beyond our own, with a focus on applying art elements in meaningful ways.
  • Year 4 students will take a musical deep dive, analysing rhythm, melody and composition as they create and perform their own musical pieces.
  • Years 3, 5 and 6 students will deepen their digital technology skills, learning to design, create and problem‑solve using a variety of digital tools.

As we continue this journey, CREATE will keep evolving into a space where students can explore, innovate and express who they are. We look forward to seeing the imagination, teamwork and storytelling that will emerge throughout Term 2.
