Principal's Message
Linda Buckeridge: Principal
If you, or someone you know, is interested in enrolling a child for Prep 2025, please feel free to come along to a school tour. School tours are offered at various dates throughout the term.
If you have decided that Hillsmeade PS is the school of choice for your prep child in 2025 please follow this link https://www.hillsmeade.vic.edu.au/enrol/
to enrol your child. I remind families to please check that you reside in the Hillsmeade school zone. You can find our school's enrolment zone at https://www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au/
Out of zone applications will be accepted and the outcome determined by a range of factors, including 'in zone' enrolment numbers.
Prep enrolments officially commenced on Monday 15th April 2024. Applications are to be submitted by Friday 26th July 2024 with notifications of the outcome of the enrolment application to be announced between 29th July - 9th August. Formal transition sessions for Prep 2025 commence early Term 4, from 7th October.
Please always check the Compass calendar for events across the school, however here are some key dates for your planning:
8th & 9th May - Mothers' and Special Others Stall
Friday 10th May - Mothers' and Special Others Breakfast for the school community
Wednesday 22nd May - Curriculum Day
Monday 10th June - King's Birthday Public Holiday
Friday 28th June - Last Day Term 2, 2.30pm dismissal & Semester 1 student reports published.
Thank you to all staff that were in attendance for interviews this week, we appreciate you taking time away from your families to liaise with our community on student progress. Thank you also to our families for coming along and spending time chatting about your child's progress and helping us make the home and school connections even stronger.
For those classes where teachers were unexpectedly absent, we will arrange new dates and times ASAP and be in contact with you via Compass.
Please remember that if your child is showing signs of being unwell it is best they stay home. We have had students attending school with sick tummies and colds/flu which can be easily spread in classrooms and with staff, despite our best hygiene processes. I thank you in advance for your co-operation in this matter.
We welcome families and classes to celebrate birthdays at school. However, we ask that any cake/treats brought in by families are individually wrapped please eg individually wrapped cupcakes. Whole birthday cakes unfortunately will not be accepted if required to be sliced and distributed to students. Thanks for your understanding and co-operation.
