Mental Health and Wellbeing

Dear Hillsmeade Community,

I am excited to introduce myself as Hillsmeade Primary School’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader for 2024.

My name is Abbie Sheers, and I have been part of the Hillsmeade Primary School community for 6 years now. Over the past few years, I have taught in the upper years of primary school and this year thrilled to be taking on this new role in Wellbeing. I am dedicated to supporting the emotional and psychological growth of our students.

In my role, I will be working closely with students, teachers, and parents to foster a nurturing environment where every child feels supported and valued. My primary focus will be on promoting mental health awareness through Social and Emotional Learning, providing resources and support students and staff, and implementing strategies to enhance overall wellbeing within our school community.

Creating a strong partnership between home and school is essential in supporting the wholistic development of our students. I am here to listen and collaborate with you to ensure that your child's mental health needs are met.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions regarding your child's mental health and wellbeing. Together, we can create a supportive and inclusive environment where all students can thrive.

I look forward to getting to know each of you and working together to prioritise the mental health and wellbeing of our students.

Warm regards,

Abbie Sheers
