Year 1 Update

Upcoming Learning -Term 2, Weeks 2 & 3

During the next fortnight, Year 1 students will be undertaking learning in the following areas:

Reading	Students continue to engage in literacy activities using the Little Learners Love Literacy program. Our digraph focus is the long ‘e’ including ee, ea, e, e-e, _ _y, ey.
Writing	Students are learning about punctuation and persuasive writing, including author’s purpose, text structure and language. Letter formation is also a focus.
Maths	Students are learning about a range of addition strategies including 1 more/2 more/3 more, counting on from the larger number, number lines, partitioning numbers, doubles, 10 facts and vertical addition.
Inquiry	Students are exploring communities including their classroom, school, community groups they belong to and community helpers.
SEL	Students are investigating teamwork as well as inclusive gender stories and scenarios as part of Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships.
