Getting to know you
Foundation students started their first year of school with lots of excitement. They met their teacher, explored their classroom environment and were introduced to different places around the school, including the playground, toilets, sandpit, basketball court and canteen. Students also interacted with their classmates and had opportunities to talk about themselves. They were introduced to important classroom routines such as lining up, packing and unpacking their bags and preparing for learning.

School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support - Our Matrix
Foundation students learned about the three school values: Resilience, Responsibility and Kindness. They explored what each value means and discussed how these values can be demonstrated both in the classroom and throughout the school. Students also demonstrated these by speaking kindly to others, helping to keep the classroom clean and trying their best when faced with challenges.

Building a class team
The Foundation cohort learned about what it takes to make a great team. Students participated in a variety of group activities such as sharing their favourite games and colours, as well as playing ‘Simon Says’. While engaging in these activities, the Foundation students demonstrated resilience and respect while waiting for their turn and encouraging their peers as they shared ideas. Students also discussed what to do when they need help and together as a class, they shared solutions to different types of problems.

School Wide Positive Behaviour Support - Where can we play?
As Foundation students explored the different areas within the school, they learned about the different places they can play at recess and lunchtime. These areas include the Foundation playground and play area, basketball court and the sandpit. Students were taught how to play safely on the equipment while still having fun.

17th February - Meet the Teacher Night
Hats and water bottles - Students will need a sunsmart hat to play outside during Term 1 and Term 4. Students will also need to bring a water bottle labelled with their name.
