Foundation

Foundation students have begun their Visual Arts journey by being welcomed into the art classroom and learning what it means to be part of an art community. They are starting to share ideas about themselves using the theme of Our Place, while learning to listen, ask questions and build positive relationships with their peers and teacher. Their first lesson saw students drawing and colouring their family.

Year 1

Year 1 students have been welcomed into the art classroom as they begin exploring Our Place. They are learning classroom routines, finding their allocated seats and developing positive relationships by actively listening, asking and answering questions, and sharing personal ideas through art.

Year 2

Year 2 students are settling into the art classroom and beginning to explore identity and familiar places through Visual Arts. As they learn new routines and expectations, students are practising respectful listening, sharing information about themselves and collaborating with peers in a supportive learning environment.

Year 3

Year 3 students have commenced Visual Arts by being welcomed into the art classroom and establishing positive learning relationships. While exploring the them of Our Place through their local environment and community, they are developing skills in communication by listening, questioning and confidently sharing their ideas.

Year 4

Year 4 students are beginning the Our Place unit by settling into the art classroom and learning how to work together as a creative community. Through structured routines and allocated seating, students are building positive relationships while practising active listening, discussion and visual communication.

Year 5

Year 5 students have been welcomed into the art classroom and are establishing clear routines and expectations for learning. As they begin exploring belonging, culture and place through art, they are strengthening relationships by listening respectfully, contributing ideas and sharing personal connections.

Year 6

Year 6 students are commencing Visual Arts by settling into the art classroom and building a positive, respectful learning environment. As they begin exploring identity, community and place, students are practising effective communication skills, including active listening, thoughtful questioning and sharing ideas with confidence.
