Love Your Library

The past few weeks have brought a wonderfully festive buzz to the Laurence Library. The space is now glowing under tinsel, twinkling lights, and an ever-growing collection of handmade decorations. Students eagerly added their own touches, with paper snowflakes proving to be a clear favourite! It has been such a joy to watch them pause between classes to hang up their creations and admire the work of their peers. The result? A warm, cheerful corner of the school that feels ready for the end-of-year rush and extremely festive!.

Looking ahead, here is a quick update on borrowing arrangements. Book borrowing will be paused during Week 7 while we complete our annual stocktake. This gives us time to check the collection thoroughly and make sure everything is in great shape before the summer break. Thank you for your cooperation during this short freeze! But do not worry – you are still welcome to come in and read during breaks.
The good news? Borrowing reopens in Week 8, and students are encouraged to take books home for the holidays. It is the perfect chance to grab something new for those quiet moments between festivities, travel, or simply relaxing. If you are unsure what to pick, feel free to stop by. There will be no shortage of options available once the stocktake is complete.
With decorations up and the term winding down, or winding up depending on how you feel, the Laurence Library is shaping up to be the perfect place for a joyful stroll to the finish line of 2025.
