Last week I had the honour of speaking at Chapel with Zara and Bella, sharing the story of Cowan House and reflecting on Edith Cowan’s incredible legacy. It was inspiring to explore what Cowan House will stand for - a place of integrity, connection, and inclusivity. If you missed my journey around Perth uncovering Edith’s lasting impact, head to our socials and catch up!
What truly made me smile that day was watching the Expressions of Interest come through in real time. A huge thank you to every student who seized the opportunity to be part of something special. Applications have now closed.
This week also marked the induction of our Year 8 students as the Founding Year 9 Prefect Leaders for 2026 for Cowan House. Congratulations to:

These leaders will work alongside our Year 12 team to build Cowan House spirit and create a true sense of belonging for all. Together, we shine brightest when we choose what is right, even when no one is there to see it. As we finish the year, let us continue to uphold our standards, support one another, and represent our school with pride. Members of Cowan House - Let us finish strong together.
Mr Adam Edwards
Head of Cowan House

As always, it has been busy in the House world! Sync Swim practice is officially underway as we gear up for our 2026 performance. A huge thank you to our Sync Swim leaders who have been arriving early to master the choreography. This routine is already shaping up to be something special. Week 4 brought our final House Week of the year, and what a celebration it was! From dodgeball battles to Bake-Off brilliance and intense Uno showdowns, Gandhi students showed up in style. A standout moment? Gandhi taking the win in Just Dance! An incredible result. Now, our focus shifts to two big events for both our newest and oldest Gandhites.
Orientation Day is just around the corner, and we look forward to welcoming our incoming Year 7s for 2026 and showing them what makes Gandhi great. Meanwhile, our Year 11s are preparing for Transition to Year 12 Week - a valuable opportunity to bond and enjoy some fun activities before stepping into their final year with its many demands and expectations.
Finally, we are thrilled to announce our inaugural Year 9 Prefects for 2026! Congratulations to our three outstanding Year 8 leaders:

We are confident they will continue to make meaningful contributions to Gandhi House in these new positions. We are in the final stretch! Let us keep the Gandhi spirit is alive and thriving and finish 2025 off well.
Miss Amy Perejmibida
Head of Gandhi House

Term Four’s House Week was a huge win for Lincoln! We scored one 1st place, two 2nd place finishes, and — best of all — took the crown in the annual St George’s Bake Off! As always, the Lincoln spirit was on full display, and I couldn’t be prouder of the energy, commitment, and teamwork you brought to every event. This is what makes St George’s such a special place.
Sync Swim practice has begun with our Year 7s learning next year’s routine for the Swimming Carnival. I will not spoil the surprise (no song or dance leaks just yet!), but the Lincoln Leaders and Sync Swim team are working hard behind the scenes, creating instructional videos to play during PCG so you can practice in the mornings. Next year’s competition is going to be epic!
This week, we also welcomed our very first Year 9 House Prefects for Lincoln—a huge congratulations to:

These amazing students will join me and House Captain Holly in planning and leading House and School activities, discussions and planning in 2026. A huge thank you to all students who applied for the positions. With just a few weeks left in the year, now is the time to go all in. Keep those House tokens coming and fill those jars - every single one counts towards the House Cup. Let us bring it home, Lincoln!
Mr Vincent Lim
Head of Lincoln House

With just over two weeks left in the school year(!), the race for the House Cup is heating up! There is still plenty of time to add tokens to our House Jars every single one counts, so keep them coming in and find any that have made their way home by accident. These tokens will make all the difference to the House Cup.
Week 4 was a fantastic celebration of House Week, and it was wonderful to see so many Mandela students getting involved. From high-energy Dodgeball to slick moves in Just Dance and fierce UNO battles, Mandela students brought enthusiasm and teamwork to every event. A special shout-out to our Bake-Off stars, with several students baking their way into the final round. We are proud of your creativity and skill!
The PCG Quiz leaderboard could not be tighter, with M1, M6, and M9 separated by a single point. With three weeks to go, every answer matters. Bring your A-game each morning and push your PCG to the top.
Preparations for next year’s Sync Swim performance have begun to take shape, with students set to learn next year’s routine over the coming weeks. A special thank-you to the dedicated Year 11 Leaders who have given up their own free time during their exam break to help teach and guide the students. Their commitment is greatly appreciated.
Finally, a big congratulations to our newly elected 2026 Year 9 Prefects:

They will be working alongside our Year 12 Leaders in House Events and Middle Years Chapel Services next year.
Well done! Mandela, you have had a strong few weeks—now let us finish the year on a high and put ourselves in the best position to claim that House Cup at Presentation Night!
