Year 9 & 10

Year 9 latest

So much has happened in the past couple of week, but let us be honest — the real buzz around Year 9 right now is camp next week! Now that assessments are done –  with students showing real perseverance, balancing study and co-curricular commitments - we could not be more excited about the adventure that awaits in Waroona.

This year we are partnering with Growth Hunting for the very first time, a fantastic organisation that specialises in youth development through challenge, connection and purposeful adventure. Their recent visit to St George’s gave students, staff – and Year 9 parents as well,  a taste of what is to come — programs designed to uncover strengths, spark leadership, and build confidence. Exactly what our Year 9s need as they prepare for senior school. I cannot wait to see the camp program evolve and will see all the Year 9s attending camp bright and early Monday morning – let the adventures begin.

With sunny skies forecast, it is shaping up to be an unforgettable experience filled with teamwork and friendships forged around the campfire.

Year 10 latest

As the year races to a close, our Year 10 students can look back with genuine pride at what they have accomplished. The recent semester exams marked a major milestone, and their effort, focus, and determination throughout the preparation and assessment period were commendable. These experiences have given them valuable insights into their strengths and areas for growth—especially important for those stepping into the ATAR pathway next year.

This term has been short, fast-paced and full of activity, yet the Year 10 cohort have risen to the challenge with maturity, adaptability, and a growing sense of responsibility. With just weeks to go, we encourage students to stay committed, make positive choices, and continue to uphold the values of respect and integrity that define school life at St George’s Anglican Grammar School.

One of the most rewarding parts of this year has been watching friendships evolve, strengthen, and in many cases, truly flourish. As C.S. Lewis wrote,

“Friendship is born at the moment when one person says to another: ‘What! You too?’”

That spirit of connection has been evident everywhere—from classrooms to House events to Co Curricular pursuits and the everyday moments that make school life meaningful. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working alongside the Year 10s and wish them all the best as they move to being Year 11s under the care of the Head of Year 11 & 12 next year.
