Year 3 News

From Ahmed Al- Hameli, Year 3B teacher
We are one with nature
Welcome back to Term 4! It has been wonderful to see our Grade 3 students return refreshed and ready for another exciting term of learning.
At the end of Term 3, we enjoyed an excursion to Royal Park to conclude our History unit. Students participated in nature sketching and sensory walks while reflecting on Aboriginal connections to Country and the importance of caring for Place. Thank you to all the parent helpers who joined us and helped make the excursion possible!
This week, students have been settling back into their classroom routines and discussing how these help everyone feel safe, confident and ready to learn. In Reading and Writing, we have been revising the parts of a sentence and learning how to expand noun groups to make our writing more descriptive. In Mathematics, students have begun exploring multiplication patterns, multiples and arrays.
We have also launched our new Civics and Citizenship unit. Students are learning about government and the important features of democracy, including voting and making decisions fairly.
We are looking forward to a busy and rewarding final term together!
