Division Athletics Carnival

 

We are incredibly proud of the students who represented our school at the Division Athletics Carnival last Thursday at the VU Track Centre.  Our team displayed outstanding effort, determination and school spirit throughout the day.

 

With beautiful weather providing the perfect conditions for competition, our team participated in a range of events including the 100m, 200m, 400m, discus, javelin, long jump, triple jump and high jump.

We would also like to acknowledge every student who competed. Each athlete represented our school with pride and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship both on and off the track. It was wonderful to hear our students cheering loudly from the sidelines and supporting their teammates throughout the day. 

 

Thank you to Mr Kody Yates who supported the team and Mannvi Deo 9A who assisted me with the boys high jump event throughout the day.

 

Congratulations to all our athletes on an outstanding effort. You should all be incredibly proud of the way you represented our school.

BASKETBALL INTER SCHOOL SPORT

 

Over the last week our Year 7, 8 and Intermediate students have competed in basketball at Inter school Sports at Eagle Stadium. Competing against some of the following schools-Manor Lakes, Hoppers Crossing, Carranballac, Good News Mambourin, Featherbrook, Werribee, Suzanne Cory, Point Cook and Walcom Ngarrwa.

 

Year 7

Our Year 7 girls won their 3 pool games with a close 3rd game against Walcom Ngarrwa winning 17-16 to compete in the final against Carranballac JW. Unfortunately, Carranballac JW got off to a quick lead and we could not peg it back. The girls team should be proud of their efforts and sportsmanship. 

Congratulations to Parisa, Jayda, Aylah, Houmaya, Elanna, Lumeh, Adisha and Hayley.

Our Year 7 boys won their first 2 games against Carranballac and Good News Mambourin which set up a must win game against Walcom Ngarrwa to progress to the final, unfortunately the boys lost. The boys played with great spirit, supported one another and represented the school with pride. A big shout out to Ever Htoo who coached the boys in their games.  You were amazing!

Congratulations to Cyde, Reign, Tevita, Ever, Joaquim, Ethan, Elisha, Daniel and Hunter.

 

 

Year 8

Our Year 8 Boys lost their first 2 games against Featherbrook and Carranballac. Both games were a close contest.

Congratulations to Rico, Mason, Malachi, Blut, Kahu, Steven, Abdirahman, K’Pru and Tenari.

Our Year 8 Girls were persistent all day and focused on perfecting their skills in scoring and defence. They unfortunately lost both of their games but showed effort and a never give up attitude.

Congratulations to Rosy, Chloe, Emily, Crist, Gracy, Charlotte and Mia.

 

Intermediate

Our Intermediate Girls were up against it with only 5 taking the court for the day.  The girls played with great spirit and supported one another.

Congratulations to Jessica, Mikayla, Ane, Noema and Josephine.

Our Intermediate Boys lost their games by a close margin to Carranballac JW and Point Cook. Each student gave their all and proudly represented the school. Best players for Game 1 were Oliver Cox and Game 2 Ler Gay.

Congratulations to Chayse, Abel, Oliver, Kody, Lok Him, Finn, Joseph, Ler Gay, Zephaniah, Lucky and Daeroan.

 

Thanks to Ms Bruce, Mr McKenzie, Mr Yates and Mr Lynch for taking the students out.

Table Tennis-Years 8 and Intermediate

Week 4 seen Year 8 Boys and Intermediate Boys and Girls participate in Table Tennis for Interschool Sport. Competing against Suzanne Cory and Manor Lakes who were tough competition.

For some students it was their first time playing Table Tennis, they have learnt a new sport and skill set.  All students played with determination and had fun competing.

Intermediate- Nermeen, Ahmed, Vanessa, Finn, Ray Mhu and Momotu. Shout out to Vanessa who took the No.1 player from Suzanne Cory and won.

A huge congratulations to Krista Gadsden for winning Bronze in the Thailand Open Karate Championship in the Junior Girls Team Event in August. Krista performed exceptionally well against a highly competitive field. Her success is a reflection of her dedication and hard work and she continues to be an inspiring role model for her peers in both the sport and school community.  

 

We are all very proud of you.
