Healthy Lunchbox Week

National Lunchbox Week, an initiative by Nutrition Australia, aims to inspire Australian families to pack lunchboxes that are both nourishing and enjoyable. Celebrating diversity and the joy of eating, the campaign emphasizes the importance of positive, pressure-free lunchbox experiences for children’s wellbeing and their relationship with food.
From February 9th to 15th, as families eased back into the school routine, National Lunchbox Week provided practical ideas and recipes while promoting supportive, judgment-free conversations about food. Schools and early childhood settings were encouraged to share inclusive messages about lunchbox choices.
On Wednesday, February 12th, Eastern Health's Health Promotion Team joined the Wellbeing Team to bring these messages to life. During lunchtime, students had the chance to hop on a smoothie bike, blending their own Mango & Banana or Berry Smoothies through pedal power. Special mention goes to Max Ferris, who pedalled four times to make a total of 16 smoothies!
The event was a tremendous success, leaving everyone refreshed and inspired to pack healthier lunchboxes.
