From the Principal

Hello everyone,

I hope you enjoy this edition of ‘Healesville High Connections’, our first for 2025.

The first term of this year has been as busy, as productive, and as successful as we could possibly have hoped. The ‘Connections’ newsletter allows us to share, through positive reports and stories, the highlights at our school over the past two months.

This edition includes reports written by numerous staff members on school events from those two months and the sheer number of reports and events highlight just how busy life is at school level.

To our students- thank you for embracing the opportunities on offer. Healesville High School provides so many experiences, and it is gratifying to see so many of our students taking full advantage of the diverse range of experiences on offer.

In this edition you will read about the Doctors in Schools program, about classroom achievements in Japanese, Mathematics, Music, Outdoor Education, the Talbot Room, and Science. You’ll also see a report on the recent Year 8 camp to Phillip Island, the Year 7 Fun Day to Gumbuya World, a ‘Women in Trades’ excursion to the Yarra Ranges Tech School, a Year 9 Fitness and Recreation excursion to the Yarra Glen Bowls Club, the HHS Swimming Carnival and much more. School life is challenging, demanding, exciting and diverse for students, and rewarding for teachers and support staff when we see students enthusiastically engaging in these events!

I am grateful to the staff members of Healesville High School. Without your dedication and willingness to work far beyond your job description these extra experiences would not be possible.

Parent/teacher/student interviews

May I take this opportunity to provide this reminder about the parent/teacher/student interviews scheduled to take place in-person at school on Thursday April 3 between 3.40pm and 8.00pm and on-line on Friday April 4 between 10.00am and 2.30pm.

A reminder also that no classes will be held on Friday April 4.

School commences on Tuesday April 22.

The school’s annual Open Night is to be held on Wednesday April 23, commencing at 6.30pm in the Performing Arts Centre. Classes will be held as normal during the school day on Wednesday.

Thank you to each of the contributors to this edition and best wishes to all for the upcoming holiday period. As always, thank you sincerely for the goodwill, support, and care consistently on display within our school community.

Kind regards

Allan Rennick
