Holiday Reading – Read the Book First!

Winter provides a great opportunity in our busy lives to slow down and spend time indoors on relaxing pastimes such as reading.  Many streaming services have adapted TV series and movies from fantastic books such as Argylle, Geek Girl, Lessons in Chemistry, Tiny Beautiful Things and The Three Body Problem. The library has all of these books and more, including a current selection of new titles for students to borrow.

Students are also reminded to return their overdue books in order to borrow books during school holidays.

CBCA Shadow Judging 2024

Our MGSC judges are bona fide reading stars and are pictured on the 2024 CBCA promotional flyer.  The Shadow Judges met a couple of weeks ago to discuss the shortlisted book Grace Notes, a verse novel set in Covid-era Melbourne and are meeting this Thursday to discuss the next title A Hunger of Thorns, a fantasy novel.

The Shadow Judges will be building this year’s post it wall in the library foyer.  In keeping with one of the Grace Notes themes of Artistry, they will be creating a large image of the most famous artwork in the world – The Mona Lisa.

VCE Exams and SACs - Bound Reference

With students sitting SACs throughout the year and final VCE exams later in the year, this is a reminder to students and parents that the library has book binding materials and is able to assist students with their bound references.
