Stories in the Dark
Congratulations to the VCE Theatre Studies class on their production of ‘Stories in the Dark’ by Debra Oswald. The students worked had to craft a performance that was both comedic and powerful, leaving the audience to reflect on the tragic impact of war. It was wonderful to see so many parents, staff, friends and former theatre studies students at the show.
Top Acts
Congratulations to Zoe Ancilleri on her performance as part of the prestigious Top Acts showcase at the Melbourne Recital Centre on the 28th May. Performing in Top Acts was an incredible opportunity for Zoe as she was able to participate in workshops leading up to the performance with other students who created outstanding performances in Drama, Dance, Music, Sound and Theatre Studies. Zoe’s dedication, talent, and hard work truly shone on the night. Well done Zoe!

Vocal Masterclass
Vocal students were fortunate enough to be able to participate in a Vocal Masterclass with professional soprano Elena Xanthoudakis.
The students were taught useful vocal warm-ups which we now apply to our singing lessons and choir rehearsals. Elena spent two hours with the students giving them exercises to improve their singing skills as well as listening to students and giving them useful feedback that they can now apply to their performances.
Students who sang individually for the masterclass were Yolanda Kang, Jessie Inglis, Mariya Bernyk and Tara Haigh. Elena used some special tools for two students shown in the photos. Jessie had to use a stretchy skipping rope to help activate her supportive muscles while Tara had to balance on a circular wedge to gain more connection to the body muscles.
A big thank you to Elena and Ms Blanka West for organising such a special experience.
