Senior School News

Term two is often thought of as the busiest term of the year. Certainly the VCE students have been involved in many activities and also have completed many assessments.

There were senior sports events, Athletics Carnival, incursions and the House Music Competition to prepare for and at the same time students were preparing for CATs, SACs and exams.

Semester two begins on Monday 17 June. Attendance records will reset to zero for semester 2 classes. Just a reminder that the school does not endorse family holidays during term time.

Our Year 12 students are encouraged to consider how they will approach the upcoming mid-year break. They have been advised to plan their days firstly by considering what appointments and work commitments they have and then a study routine to consolidate Unit 3 courses and complete any holiday homework.

Year 7 & 12 Fancy Dress

This week the Year 12 and 7 students participated in the Fancy Dress Competition. Each Year 7 form group has been rehearsing at lunchtime with a group of year 12 students to devise a routine within the set theme. This year’s theme was ‘Taylor Swift Eras Tour’. Each class was allocated a different album. Congratulations to all of the students who dressed up and performed in front of their peers on Tuesday and had a fun afternoon.

A big congratulations to 7E who won the competition and to all of the Year 12s who choreographed and taught the year 7s a dance. Well done to 7B who came 2nd and 7C who came third. Some of the highlights from the day was watching the Year 12s do a conga line and the whole group dance the Nutbush!

The GAT - Tuesday 18 June

All students studying a unit three subject must complete the GAT next Tuesday 18th June. This year there are approximately 240 MGSC students sitting the General Achievement Test. There are no Year 11 or 12 classes running on that day. Students can wear casual clothes and are encouraged to dress warmly.
