Education in Faith

Dear Parents and Carers,
"Dear Lord, thank you for my mother, who has loved me,
cared for me, and taught me how to live well.
Today, I pray that you give her strength where she is weak, wisdom where she is unsure,
and patience with the many demands placed upon her. Fill her heart with your deep love and bless her for all the sacrifices she has made for our family.
May she feel valued and cherished today and always
Celebrating Mother’s Day
This Sunday we celebrate Mother’s Day, a special time to honour and give thanks for the mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures in our lives. We recognise the love, care, and dedication they show each day, often in quiet and selfless ways. As a school community, we take this opportunity to acknowledge the important role these women play in nurturing, guiding, and supporting our children. We also hold in our thoughts those for whom this day may be difficult, remembering those who are no longer with us but are always in our hearts. We wish all mothers and caregivers a joyful and peaceful Mother’s Day.
Celebrating the Feast of St Fidelis
Last Friday, our school community celebrated the feast day of St Fidelis. The day began with Mass at 9:15am, where we gathered in prayer and reflected on the life and faith of our patron saint. We extend our sincere thanks to Father Brendan Reed for facilitating our Mass and leading our school community in prayer. His presence helped to create a reverent and meaningful celebration, allowing us to reflect more deeply on the life and example of our patron saint.
Music/SingingTeacher
We are pleased to welcome Anna Di Simone, who will attend our school each fortnight to lead the children in liturgical singing. These sessions will support students in developing their vocal skills while enriching their participation in Mass and other liturgical celebrations. We extend our sincere thanks to Father Brendan for organising this valuable opportunity for our students.
Eucharist family faith night
Our Eucharist family faith night for year 4 children will take place on Wednesday 20th at May 7.00pm at Our Lady Help of Christians Brunswick East. Our Lady Help of Christian will be hosting this event. Families from St Joseph's Brunswick, Our Lady help of Christian and St Fidelis will join together for this event. This evening will be facilitated by Sarah Smith who is a Catholic Identity and Faith Formations consultant. We invite all year 4 children who are receiving the Sacrament of Eucharist and their parents to attend this event. More information will be available prior to the event.
Eucharist Retreat Day
All Year 4 students are invited to participate in a special Retreat Day on Friday 12th June. This day provides a valuable opportunity for the children to step away from their usual classroom routine and focus more deeply on their faith journey. Throughout the retreat, students will engage in a variety of meaningful activities, including prayer, reflection, discussion, and quiet time, all centred on a deeper understanding of the sacrament they are preparing for. The retreat is designed to support students in recognising the significance of the sacrament in their lives, encouraging them to reflect on their relationship with God and others. It will also provide a space for students to ask questions, share their thoughts, and grow in their understanding within a supportive and faith-filled environment.
Project compassion
As Project Compassion 2026 draws to a close, we would like to sincerely thank the St Fidelis community for your generous support throughout the Lenten season. Your contributions help make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need around the world. We kindly ask that all Project Compassion money boxes be returned to the school by this Friday 8th May. Thank you once again for your compassion, kindness, and commitment to helping others.
Upcoming School Mass Times
Throughout the term, students will have regular opportunities to attend Mass as part of their faith journey and spiritual development. These celebrations provide meaningful moments for prayer, reflection, and connection with our school community. The following schedule outlines the allocated times for each class to participate in Mass and other prayer experiences. We warmly invite parents and carers to join us whenever possible, as your presence helps to enrich these special occasions and strengthens the partnership between home, school, and parish.
