Year 7 & 8
Head of Year, Mr Thomas Dempers

Term Two has begun with a fantastic sense of energy across Years 7 and 8. It was a pleasure to witness the fun and excitement of the lead-up to the Interhouse Performing Arts Festival last Friday night at the Perth Town Hall. So many of our Year 7 and 8 students were involved, whether performing on stage or assisting in support roles behind the scenes. It was fantastic to see the confidence, commitment and positive attitude shown by our students throughout the lead-up to the evening.
For our Year 7 students, after a very busy Term One, the routines of high school will now begin to feel more natural and familiar. Moving between campuses, organising lockers, managing homework, reading timetables and preparing for each lesson are all skills that take time to develop. Students are encouraged to keep building these habits by arriving prepared, asking questions when unsure, using their diaries effectively and staying focused on making positive choices each day.
For our Year 8 students, the upcoming camp in two weeks is an exciting opportunity to strengthen friendships, build teamwork and continue developing independence. Camp is often a valuable time for students to step outside their comfort zones, encourage one another and contribute positively to the year group. It will be a great time!
Reminders
A reminder that each locker must be secured with a school-issued combination lock. If a student has misplaced their lock, a replacement can be purchased from Reception by card or added to school fees.
