Hearty congratulations to Henry (and his teammates in the State Little League Baseball team, the Eastern Phantoms) for qualifying for national competition.
A series of baseball contests will take place in Sydney during the first week of June. Henry is a pitcher and right fielder who progressed to baseball from t-ball, which he began when he was six.
He plays for UWA Magpies (Little League) and Morley Eagles (Intermediate League) and was picked for the Eastern Phantoms after three days of try-outs. The Eastern Phantoms is the State charter team for the UWA, Morley and Perth baseball clubs.
At Easter, the Eastern Phantoms played a tournament against the other State charter teams and ended up in the top two, which means they go to Blacktown in Sydney to compete in the national competition against all the other top State and Territory teams. Whoever wins the national competition will travel to the Little League world series in the US. Good luck, Henry. We will all be cheering for you. There’s no stopping the Potter sisters. Their mid-term break was far from a casual holiday – rather it was an awesome two weeks of competing, learning and challenging themselves, bagging multiple medals to boot.
Anouk (Year 12) competed in the Australian Swimming Championships while Fieke (Year 9) ran in the Australian Athletics Championships.
Fieke came second in the U15 girls 3000m, third in the 1500m and fifth in the 800m at heats and finals in Brisbane. Then Anouk won the 16 Years Girls 200m Freestyle as well as bronze in the 100m Fly on the Gold Coast. As a result, Anouk was selected in the Australian Junior Dolphin’s Swim Team to represent Australia at the 2026 Junior Pan Pacific Championships in August in Vancouver, Canada. A fantastic achievement and very exciting for the whole family.
