On Thursday 23 July, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, we will warmly welcome all Year 10 students and families to the Year 10 Subject Selection Information Evening at our Murray Street Campus.
At this evening, we will provide further information regarding the subject selection process. In Week 6 of this term, we will also release the Year 11 2027 Subject Selection Handbook for families to view and discuss with their child at home over the remainder of Term Two and the Term Two holidays. We look forward to sharing more details in the coming weeks, as subject selection is a terrific experience for students as they prepare for their transition to senior school.
Our next round of Parent Teacher Interviews will commence on Tuesday 12 May, from 12:30pm to 6:30pm, at our Murray Street Campus for Year 8 - 11 students and families.
A personalised booking invite has been sent to your nominated email address, with further information enclosed. If there are any queries regarding your booking, please call our Student Reception team on (08) 9312 0800.
Semester One Examinations are just 12 days away for Years 11 and 12.
Please note that if a student is absent for an examination, families must contact the School as early as possible. A medical certificate is required for any absence during the examination period. During the examination period, Years 11 and 12 students are only required to attend school for their scheduled examinations, in full winter uniform. Outside of these times, students may choose to study from home, use facilities around the city, or access the Laurence Library at William Street as a quiet study space. Students are required to attend school as normal up until the first day of examinations. The Year 11 and 12 Examination Timetable is available on SEQTA notices.
We also wish to ensure that our Year 12 APEx students are well prepared for the upcoming Externally Set Tasks, which commence on Monday.
The EST is an important assessment for APEx students, contributing 15 per cent to each student’s final course grade. As such, it is important that students revise key content and prepare carefully. The Year 12 EST Timetable is available on SEQTA notices.
A reminder that Year 11 Semester Two course changes will reopen from Tuesday 2 June (Week 7), once examination and assessment results are recorded for Semester One studies. Until then, all Year 11 students are warmly encouraged to dedicate their best efforts towards their final assessments for Unit 1, ensuring their high school transcript reflects their efforts across all courses as they continue solidifying their pathway choices.
In the lead-up to Year 11 and 12 Semester One exams, students have had the opportunity to participate in our Legendary Learners sessions in the Laurence Library from 3:30pm to 6:30pm.
These sessions provide valuable study support, with students able to learn from past St George’s students who achieved strong academic success. In addition to past students, Mrs Tagore and Ms Bakeberg and I, will be in attendance to support students. There are still two sessions remaining on Wednesday 13 May and Thursday 14 May, and we warmly encourage all Year 11 and 12 students to attend.
