House Athletics - Thursday 26 February

In another close battle between our three Houses, Tabor Trojans (White) yet again walked away as champions, winning two consecutive carnivals this year. The College was once again blessed with great weather on the day, starting with some clouds before it became warm towards the end of the carnival.

From the start of the competition, the Houses were very close. White House dominated the field events, but Zion Crusaders (Blue) narrowed the gap by winning the track events. White House won by 44 points, with Blue House second and Gibeon Warriors (Red) third. The three houses started the carnival with a chant competition for the House Spirit Trophy. They improved on this by the end of the carnival and Blue House was awarded the Spirit Trophy.

There was a great sense of community with students and parents supporting their houses throughout the day. It was great to see so many students participating for their houses, making it a great competition throughout the day with two new records broken by our Seniors.

EISM Inter-School Athletics Competition

The EISM Inter-School Athletics Division 3 competition will take place during week four of Term 2 on Friday 15 May 2026. More details about this event will be published closer to the event.

Students who won for their age group at the House Athletics (those who are born earlier or later than most of their cohort will be compared to their age group—taken on 1 January this year) will represent Oxley at this event. The fastest 100m runners will be selected for the relay team for their age group. Unfortunately, there is only discus for U/14, U/16 and Open at the EISM level.

We hope to do well in this competition and strongly encourage students who won their events to focus on training and to attend the Fitness (Running) Group on Thursday afternoons at 3.45pm, meeting on Court 3 in the Stadium. Selected students and their parents will be notified of their participation in the EISM event.

Oxley Win Division Swimming Again!

Our Oxley swimmers achieved amazing results in the pool at the EISM Division 2 Swimming Carnival, becoming winners for a second year in a row. On top of that, the College took home all the trophies: Winning School, Best Girls Team, Best Boys Team and Most Improved School.

The event took place at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC) on Thursday 26 March. The EISM run both Division 3 and Division 2 Swimming on the same day at MSAC with Division 3 schools swimming a race followed by Division 2 schools.

Due to strong individual swimmers, we spread the talent over different Age Groups with many of our swimmers swimming an age up and, in some instances, two ages up. All students were selected for their events based on their times at the House Swimming Carnival.

Our students performed very well in their individual events, with the results shown below. Oxley also won four of the Freestyle Relays and four of the Medley Relays. The Girls came second in the Multi-Age Relay where one swimmer of each age group compete in the relay. The Boys won the Multi Age Relay to finish the day off strong.
