Year 4 Mill Valley Ranch Camp

Day 1
On Day 1 of this wonderful camp, Year 4 got off the bus and one of the ranch staff gave us a tour of the camp. Before we even got to settle, we were welcomed with great fun with the game of Ed’s Alley. It’s a game like bowling, but smaller as you try to knock the opponents' golf balls first. If you win, then you go to the champion's side and try to keep your winning streak.
Then we had our first activity. Some groups had Archery, some had Horse Riding. It was all good fun. After, we had a tour of the Barn. It is a big shed with an old piano and a fireplace. Before we got a chance to experience the cabins, we took a break to eat our lunch.
Finally, we went to our cabins to have a surprise. All the boys’ cabins were named and themed after old businesses. The girls’ cabins didn’t have a theme. They were named The Willows, and they were much bigger than the boys’ cabins!
The dinner was obviously the best part—who doesn’t like pasta? And not just any pasta, the best pasta with garlic bread and salad.
Day 2
The next morning, we woke up at 6.30am.
Some people went to play Ed’s Alley again, and some people cleaned up their rooms, getting ready for the Cleanliness Check by the hilarious Mr Moran. We were so confident with our cabins that we forgot all about it and enjoyed our breakfast, which was a delicious egg and bacon muffin, alongside cereal and toast.
We would have never expected that the chucklesome Mr Moran was ever so strict about this cabin check, as he counted every single pillow a degree off and expected us to know his standards without ever telling us so. It was so strict that it was the only time it felt like school!
We went to our cabins, shocked by how untidy the cabin turned out to be after the check—maybe we shouldn’t have played Ed’s Alley when we were supposed to clean up! We then began activities for the day. Horse Riding was the best, and the lunch and dinner were same as the day before, still delicious!
Day 3
Again, we were woken up early and then the cabins packed up their bags and got ready to go home. For breakfast, we had waffles and peaches. It was delectable!
Next, we brought our bags to the Barn, and had our last game, featuring balloons, numbers and cones. Then the ranch staff took us to Cowboy Chapel. We sang and danced and worshipped God in the most energetic way possible!
After lunch, we got on the bus and said our farewells. Mill Valley Ranch is the best camp!
