VET Cookery
Our Year 12 VET Cookery students have been busy in the kitchen, recently completing their 12th café service for the year and their final practical cooking assessment for 2026 - a delicious brunch prepared and served for staff! It has been fantastic to see their skills, confidence and independence grow throughout the year as they near completion of their Certificate II in Cookery. A huge congratulations to all our Year 12 students on reaching this exciting milestone!
Jeans for Genes
Throughout the month of August, a small group of Year 10 and 11 students, alongside Tash Chandler, participated in the Jeans for Genes campaign. By completing 100 skips a day during lunch break, or at home, everyone has helped raise awareness for children who are born with lifelong diseases. It was a fun and healthy way to help a cause and have a few laughs together.
State Hockey Championships
On August 21st, BSC students proudly represented the College at the State Hockey Championships, competing strongly across three games.
The team achieved the following results:
- Game 1: BSC won 4–3
- Game 2: BSC lost 0–4
- Game 3: BSC won 2–0
Congratulations to all students who represented BSC and gave their best on the field.
Year 11 Biology
Our Year 11 Biology students have been getting their hands dirty in the wetlands as they collect field data on the growth of mosquito fern.
Staff from Monash University visited BSC to work with Year 11 students and explore the fascinating world of genetics and inheritance in fish.
Year 11 Chemistry
On Wednesday 2nd September, Year 11 Chemistry students completed their 'Determination of solubility of a salt in water' practical.
