Celebrating Attendance Achievements 

We are celebrating some fantastic attendance success across Year 8! Our Attendance Officer has been recognising students who have improved their attendance compared to this time last year. These students have shown real commitment to getting to school more regularly, and we are very proud of the progress they have made. To celebrate their achievements, students have been surprised with a little gift as a way of saying “well done!” Every improvement counts, and it has been wonderful to recognise and celebrate the positive steps our students are making!

Growing Our ANZAC Memorial Garden

Our students have been getting hands-on as they work to redesign and revitalise the College’s ANZAC Day Memorial Garden. Working together to prepare the garden beds and plan the new space, students are helping to create a meaningful area for our College community to remember and reflect. It has been fantastic to see their teamwork, effort and care going into this special project.

Landscape Learning 

As part of our Landforms and Landscapes learning, 8G visited the yarning circle and wetlands around our school with Aunty Lynn. Students listened as Aunty Lynn shared her knowledge of Country, including the local landscape, plants, animals and environment. This experience allowed students to connect their classroom learning to the local area and develop an understanding of the deep and continuing connection the Gunaikurnai people have had with Country for thousands of years.

Year 8 Metals and Woodwork

Year 8 Metals students are making a candle holder out of flat bar and round rod using a combination of oxy welding, mig welding and spot welding. After this they will be making a sheet metal toolbox.

Woodwork students are making a picnic table using dowl joints and a laser engraver.
